IMOP project, the innovative solution that will control labor without human intervention

The current methodology for labor control is done through disjointed processes, as there is no system that uses wireless technologies for this purpose in the factories, but rather it is reported manually. no system that uses wireless technologies for this purpose in the factories, but rather it is reported manually.

Some of the consequences of this way of working are the absence of real costs per product and of real time control, since these reports are made on a monthly basis. This often often means that the numbers do not This often means that the numbers do not add up, with all the consequences that this entails for the companies.

That is why several companies are working on the national project IMOP: Advanced Model for the Automatic Imputation of Labor to Manufactured Product. This initiative is co-financed by the Ministry of Industry and coordinated by the Packaging Innovation Cluster.

What does the IMOP project consist of?

IMOP is a system for locating personnel in the factory, with automatic allocation of hours to the manufacturing order, through the combination of 4.0 technologies. This new proposal will convert data into information and knowledge, connecting productivity, real costs, quality, traceability and human resources.

It is an innovative solution for indoor localization, based on BLE AoA technology, which indicates the direction of signal sources and enables asset tracking solutions. In addition, it is enhanced with Fingerprinting and Machine Learning processing techniques, with a tool capable of learning and correcting the location of the subject.

The fundamental novelty of the project is to achieve that all the allocation of hours and labor calculations are performed autonomously without the need for human intervention. The project aims to combine the needs related to labor management with existing technologies while minimizing the cost of data acquisition.

Objectives

The project aims to promote the economic development of companies through digital transformation, optimizing processes and therefore productivity. To this end, it sets out various technical and management objectives, among which are:

  • Promoting the economic development of companies through digital transformation.
  • Creation of a low-cost, high autonomy solution using energy-efficient technologies.
  • Automation of operator reporting, covering 75% of the tasks that until now have been performed manually.
  • To provide operational tools that support the productivity objective.
  • Avoid labor hour deviations.
  • Conducting a detailed analysis of inefficiencies.

Project financing and participation

This project is co-financed by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism (MINCOTUR) through the second call of the 2022 AEI under the Next Generation grants and the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.

It is also coordinated by the Packaging Innovation Cluster and has the participation of the companies TST, MESbook, CLR and Gráficas Lersi, and the collaboration of the Cluster of Innovative Companies of the Toy Valley (CEIV).
